Rojos Melo Twist

     Rojos Melo Twist was born in the middle of March, not a time of year I usually foal. I spent a lot of nights checking on Dolly leading up to her foaling, just to make sure he would make it.  Lucky for Twist he was born on a warmer night!  I missed his arrival by just a few minutes.  

     His first few months we went back and forth trying to decide if we were going to keep him or send him through the sale in Broadus.  The kids and I became overly attached to him so he stayed.  

     When he was weaned, I purchased a filly through the sale in Broadus and I started planning for their yearling year.  I knew I needed to start getting these babies out so people could see them more, and to make sure the filly had enough experience showing to do well at her Futurity.  So I became a member to the Eastern Montana Horse Show Circuit and entered them both in all the yearling classes.  By the time the show season was over, Twist was placing 3rd consistently in all three yearling events.  

    Now as a 2 year old he has been started under saddle, and he is even more laid back than his older brother was.  I'm very much looking forward to showing him again this summer to see what he will excel in the most!
