Mares
In our breeding program we like mares that are of high quality in both bloodlines and conformation. The mares we choose for our program are broke to ride, and have proven themselves to be good using horses before they are sent to the broodmare pen.
Lucky Holiday Lady

I have liked Lady ever since I was in college where my best friend broke her in our colt starting class. She was shown in the Eastern Montana Horse Show Circuit for a few years, and usually took high point winner for Showmanship, and freestyle reining. She is a daughter of West Texas Holiday, a stallion that I have always admired from Miles City. I can't wait to see what she will produce for us!!
Classy Lil Miss Lady

"Sunny" is a mare I found in December 2020, she had been part of a breeding program from 2014 to 2017. So she has a few other babies out there. Her previous owner owns one and says she produces quick footed babies that excel in the barrel and roping pen. You can tell she enjoyed being a range mare because she isn't very trusting until you get her haltered. Once haltered she is the most respectable mare to lead around. She was rode for a while before being bred and I'm told she was a horse that could cover the country! I'm looking forward to seeing her foals crossed with Beau starting in 2022!
MPDM Blue Sky Girl

This is Foxy! I had the opportunity to buy her back in 2020 and I kicked myself for not bringing her home. But I was offered her again, and jumped at the opportunity to bring her into my broodmare band! Foxy was raised around the Baker area. Murphy horses were known for their grittiness and longevity. She was roped off of for years and won thousands of dollars for her owners up until around 2017 when she sustained an injury to her shoulder that caused her to be retired. She has a few foals on the ground, the oldest born in 2018, and they are athletic and tall just like her! She has never produced a roan foal so we know she carries only one copy of the roan gene. Check back later in the year for updated and better quality pictures of this gorgeous mare!
Khaki Dun It

Khaki is a special mare that is retired to our pastures, but still remains in her owners name. Khaki was raised to be a reiner, her sire was trained by none other than Andrea Frappani! She had a start in the reining pen, but one of her owners changed her course and trained her for barrels. She has won checks in local jackpots as well as WPRA money! She was bred a few times before my friend bought her, and what we can find a couple of her babies are doing well in the barrel pen. She was only retired to my kids because her hocks require injections and she isn't fond of needles. My daughter, Charlotte, and Khaki are like two peas in a pod. Charlotte rides her around everywhere, and rode her all summer in our local Jackpot series! We plan on getting some gorgeous babies out of her in the coming years.
I have one other mare that is a contender to be bred this year but i'm waiting for AQHA to finish sorting her paper work out. She is a half sibling to Classy Lil Miss Lady, they have the same sire and were bred from the same program. When I purchased her she came with the wrong set of papers and it's taken over a year to make any progress on them. I'm hoping they will be issued to me soon and I'll be able to look forward to foals from a pretty bay roan mare!
Sunny Bar O
Deceased

Bar O was the first colt I ever started. I was amazed by how easy she was to break in, and how fast she picked up on working cows. By the end of her 2 year old year I was steadily using her to day ride for a ranch at Hathaway, Montana as well as for my college classes. She has produced colts that offer the same willingness to learn and are just as cowy as she is. She might be only 14 hands, but her heart is as big as the Montana Sky!
Unfortunately Bar O passed away from a twisted gut colic August of 2021.
Mel O Yel O
Deceased

Dolly here is a mare that comes from exceptional ranching bloodlines. Her dam came from the Mel Potter ranch, and own daughter to Lone Drifter. I bought her as a yearling and was able to break her in myself then take her to work on cows right away. She can cover the country and is cool as a cucumber in everything she does. Her colts have been easy to break and stay broke.
Unfortunately Dolly passed away beginning of September 2020
Belles Blue Berry
Deceased

Blue Berry we were able to purchase in the spring of 2019. I had purchased a daughter of hers the fall before, and when the breeders of that filly offered me Blue Berry to purchase I jumped at the chance to bring this big girl home to our pastures. She is bred to Rojos Doc O Drift for her first foal by him in 2020!
Unfortunately Blue Berry passed away from complications of colic In November 2020
